It started with a cowl…
I learned how to crochet when I was a child…I could crochet bunny magnets, potholders & could churn out a baby blanket or two, but never learned how to read a pattern, so that’s where it ended. Then, a few years ago, my daughter & I took a knitting class @ The Main Street Yarn Shop in Hartford, WI. I soon found out, knitting was a much more difficult task to learn than crocheting (IMO). I was totally frustrated!! I was dropping stitches, splitting my yarn & had to rip my cowl apart at least a half dozen times, but then all of a sudden I got it!! I completed my first knit cowl, which was far from perfect, but I did it!! And truth be told, I couldn’t even wear it, because I could never wear wool, it itched too much! I then found a pure merino wool product that was slightly felted & it was love at first touch. It felt like butter, and I could wear it against my skin with no issues. The obsession with knitting began after making my first hat & loving the feel of the slightly felted pure merino wool, along w/ the look, the comfort, the warmth & the compliments I received when wearing it! The obsession led to challenging myself with multiple different patterns, learning how to hand-make my own faux fur poms, & creating a label that meant something!
“Liz & Lewis” are my two kiddos’ middle names & I couldn’t be more proud of the wonderful humans they are becoming. Attaching the “Liz & Lewis” leather tag to every product makes me proud to be their mom! I also have my wonderful hubby to thank for supporting me & my small business.
I strive to make my hats, headbands, scarves, coffee sleeves, & mittens with love, using high quality materials & stylish patterns! I hope you love how you feel and look in your Liz & Lewis product as much as I loved making it!
Thank you for your support!!
